3Dconnexion links up with Computers Unlimited

Distributor bolsters its portfolio with deal to supply peripherals vendor's 3D mice

Written by Sara Yirrell

Distributor Computers Unlimited (CU) has expanded its vendor portfolio by signing a partnership agreement with peripherals vendor 3Dconnexion.

Under the terms of the deal, CU will help the vendor expand from its traditional MCAD market into the digital content creation and animator markets, with its flagship SpaceNavigator 3D mouse.

Andy Parnell-Hopkinson, 3Dconnexion sales director for northern Europe said: "It’s fantastic to be partnering with a major distributor like Computers Unlimited. The breadth of Computers Unlimited’s product portfolio, which includes products from Adobe, Apple and Wacom, creates a great opportunity for dealers to source a total integrated solution from one distributor. Computers Unlimited is also the leading Google SketchUp distributor, which will help get our products into the hands of professional SketchUp users and professional and semi-professional users of Google Earth."

Bill Allen, 3D Design Business Group Manager at CU, added: "3Dconnexion’s products sit perfectly alongside our existing portfolio of 3D modelling and content creation tools. Together with our channel of value added resellers, mail order partners, high street retailers and online e-tailers, Computers Unlimited will ensure that these innovative 3D input devices are given the greatest opportunity for sales."
