Parrot flies into UK with Catalus

French vendor signs with distributor

Written by sara yirrell

Retail distributor Catalus has partnered with French multi-media vendor Parrot to supply its products to the UK channel.
Under the terms of the agreement Catalus will stock Parrot’s range of Bluetooth-enabled audio devices and digital imaging products, including wireless digital picture frames and speakers, to supply to its network of retail and reseller partners.
Dave Flack, marketing director at Catalus said: “We are always on the lookout for different products and we already sell digital media cards [to use in digital photo frames].
“However, some Taiwanese companies are very quick to bring ‘me too’ products to market, and often the quality is dubious.
“Parrot is a French vendor with
a speciality in Bluetooth car audio products and its products are already very much tried and tested in the market,” said Flack.
Flack said the vendor’s Bluetooth-enabled frame not only allows an end user to install a memory card, but also to program the frame to show slideshows.
“This is a great retail opportunity for the channel,” Flack added. “These photo frames are not only highly attractive to the consumer, but they also have corporate connotations and can be used in reception areas and boardrooms.”
Flack said Catalus is looking to take on more reseller or retail partners to supply the Parrot product
set and is hoping to strike up deals with some of the major retailers in time for Christmas.
“Some people have had the first experience of these frames, but Parrot offers a much higher quality than some rival products on the market,” he said.
Chris Roberts, country director at Parrot UK, said: “Catalus has a number of key relationships with UK retailers, which is vital for Parrot to develop the retail channel.
“Catalus will help facilitate the rapid development of the Parrot multi-media range to meet the high demands of experienced and knowledgeable high street retailers and supermarkets.”
