Colubris
Networks’ new chief executive has outlined plans to take the wireless LAN
vendor public by 2009 after appointing
Vadition
as its third UK distributor.
Vadition has been tasked with aiding transportation specialist Colubris’ push
into the finance, healthcare, education and manufacturing sectors. The vendor
already works with Acal and Selcoms International.
Vadition is offering resellers a launch package of two sets of wireless kit
comprising two access points and one control for £500. The distributor will
install one as demonstration equipment at the VAR’s premises for free.
Rob Scott, who took the reins at Colubris in April, said: “Colubris has done
well in transportation and hospitality, but we have some catching up to do in
the enterprise space.”
Scott said Colubris will have clinched another $10m to $20m in funding to its
aid sales, marketing and engineering expansion by October.
“We’re trying to build a company that can go public by 2009, that’s why we need
another round of funding,” he said.
Neil Ledger, co-founder of Vadition, said: “We’re on the look out for six to
eight resellers. We’ve already kicked off a lead-generation programme and will
take those leads back to the channel.”
