VMware
has opened up its enterprise suite of products to all its channel partners, as
of today.
Matt Piercy, director of VMware’s partner organisation for Northern EMEA, told
CRN: “We’ve decided to make our enterprise technology available to all
our professional partners.”
The virtualisation vendor hopes the move will encourage resellers to push its
enterprise products into the SME space.
“Calling our products enterprise products is probably misleading as they are
suitable for SMEs. We will now refer to them as our Virtual Infrastructure 3
suite,” added Piercy.
Terry Walby, datacentre solutions director at
Computacenter,
said: “It’s an inevitable move as VMware aims to proliferate the market with its
enterprise products.”
