Lightspeed expansion plans gathering pace

Vendor looks to bolster partner numbers

Written by kayleigh bateman

Web security specialist Lightspeed Systems Europe has announced an aggressive recruitment drive to substantially increase partner numbers in the next 12 months.
Lightspeed intends to sign 12 regional channel partners across the UK and eventually expand into Europe at the start of next year.
Earnie Kramer, managing director of Lightspeed, said: “We have set an ambitious target but we already have 12 firms interested. The challenge now is choosing which partners best fit the role.”
The vendor has launched its partnership programme with a network and security control product, Total Traffic Control (TTC), as its main focus point.
“Many of Lightspeed’s customers are demanding security products, however, the market is very complex. The end user wants a product that is more comprehensive,” said Kramer. “The product seems to work well in SMEs as well as larger firms. It is successful across vertical markets, so Lightspeed will also focus its efforts on a few specialist vertical integrators, such as those in the insurance sector.”
One of the first partners to join Lightspeed’s reseller programme is JMC IT, which is already selling TTC in the north west.
Tim Maxwell, business development director at JMC IT, welcomed the partnership. “JMC IT has a great relationship with Lightspeed and the vendor understands the market well. Lightspeed’s target is achievable it has checked thoroughly that the product works, is cost effective and satisfies the needs of its customers.”
