High-definition (HD) videoconferencing (VC) vendor
LifeSize
has appointed
Review
Video as its latest UK distributor following the downfall of Maverick.
In April, LifeSize formed its first ever distribution partnership in the UK with
Maverick’s Convergent business. Before that, its route to market in the UK had
been through five VC resellers. Maverick has now entered administration (CRN 12
November).
Simon Dudley, EMEA director of sales at LifeSize, told CRN: “We were in
talks with Review before Maverick’s problems came to light.
“We had sold them more than half a million dollars’ worth of stock since the
formation of our partnership - so they were already successful with LifeSize
products.”
Review managing director Barry Cross said: “We know the market is moving towards
HD VC and we want to sell the number-one HD VC systems. We will support LifeSize
with our technical backup. It means we can now go into the HD market big time.
Standard definition is dead - customers might as well buy an HD system to
futureproof themselves.”
Review will be selling the complete LifeSize range, including LifeSize Express.
Launched last month, LifeSize Express offers an HD codec, HD camera, HD
microphone or optional audio conference phone and wireless remote control. It
can also be plugged-and-played with any HD display or monitor.
“We will be launching the range to the whole of our reseller base as well as
looking to bring on new partners,” added Cross.
