LinuxIT unveils managed services centre

VAR claims centre is the only dedicated enterprise Linux support centre in the UK

Open source specialist LinuxIT has launched what it claims is the only dedicated enterprise Linux support and managed services centre in the UK.

The centre, located in Bristol, has been designed around best practices within the managed services industry, according to the firm.

Peter Dawes-Huish, chief executive of LinuxIT, said: “LinuxIT is committed to the success of our customers, from FTSE 100 leaders to SMEs. We have built a support suite with the organisation, individuals, skills and procedures to meet the most challenging requirements of our customers.”

The support suite provides two offerings including Enterprise Linux Support with over 50 certified Linux engineers providing customer facing resolutions, and the Integrated Managed Services (IMS) and Network Operations Centre – which is aimed at delivering end-to-end monitoring and systems management.

Dawes-Huish continued: “LinuxIT has earned the confidence of customers by drawing on our rich heritage in Linux to deliver unparalleled support. Leveraging our experienced professionals, intelligent processes and best-of-breed technology, LinuxIT delivers comprehensive support, real economies of scale and efficiencies of cost.”

Mark Reynolds, technical services manager, said: “One of our key differentiators is ‘ownership’. Substantiated by our SLA (Service Level Agreement), we take responsibility for customers’ issues and ensure that we coordinate our efforts with both hardware and software suppliers as necessary. The focus is always on getting the problem fixed.”

LinuxIT is to hold a series of open days for customers and interested will shortly be announcing a series of open days for customers
and interested parties to visit the suite and experience latest in
managed services practice.
