Storage vendor
Tandberg
Data has recruited 500 new partners since the launch of its pan-European
channel programme six months ago and claims to be receiving half a dozen new
registration requests a day.
Last July, Tandberg told CRN that it had a target of 300 certified
partners (CRN, 13 July 2007).
However, it has since successfully recruited 500 resellers and distributors
across Europe. The vendor has also announced an enhancement to the partner
programme with additional sales and marketing
support available.
Gary Preston, sales director for north and south EMEA at Tandberg Data UK, said:
“Tandberg’s partner programme has helped it target tier-one companies, which may
not have been possible before. It offers sales and pre-sales training, deal
registration and price support.
“Tandberg has been investing time and money into its channel and believes in
good old-fashioned service to quickly support and protect partners. There is
always someone available to help 24 hours a day.”
Catherine Kimmer, channel marketing manager at Tandberg Data UK, said: “The
partner portal, also launched six months ago, has been enhanced and Tandberg
works with its resellers on their sales efforts. There is additional marketing
support upon request via the portal.”
Kimmer added: “Furthermore, training days are offered in all key partners’
European countries.”
Danny Jolly, storage sales executive at Tandberg reseller
Willow
Starcom, said: “Willow Starcom likes the attention that Tandberg gives its
partners. Being a Tandberg partner is like going into a local shop - the service
is very personal and the assistant knows what you like.
“Tandberg will aim to encourage more employees on a company’s sales team to
register,” she said.
