Zeus shoots lightning bolt at Juniper

Application traffic management vendor tempts Juniper DX customers with free upgrade

Written by Sam Trendall

Application traffic management vendor Zeus Technology is offering free upgrades for businesses currently using Juniper's DX line of application acceleration boxes, which are being discontinued.

Until the end of February, anyone who delivers a working DX series hardware unit to Zeus - the shipping costs of which are not covered by the offer - can obtain Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager software (ZXTM) for free.

It will be available as software or as a virtual appliance and ordinarily costs £3,100. ZXTM is also available as hardware, but this is not available as part of the offer. Support and maintenance costs are also not included in the offer.

Dave Asprey, Zeus vice president of technology strategy, said: "This has been a popular offer and we are seeing continued interest in it. I hope that, from this, we can build relationships with new customers."
