NHR toasts sales rise

Refurbished Cisco dealer records 28 per cent sales rise

Refurbished equipment dealer Network Hardware Resale (NHR) saw revenues rise 28 per cent in 2007 on the back of a surge in international sales.

The US-based firm, which recently told CRN it is planning to open a UK office in early 2008, posted a turnover of $176.7m (£90.6m) last year, topping its projected goal of $170m.

NHR specialises in pre-owned networking equipment such as routers, switches and access servers from a range of vendors including Cisco.

After opening an Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore, NHR saw revenues from the region vault 34 per cent. Its European operations also prospered, with the UK growing 25 per cent, France up 66 per cent and the Netherlands bouncing 54 per cent.

The firm also emphasised it achieved a positive EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for a 32nd quarter running.

Mike Sheldon, chief executive of NHR, said. “Many people assume that success in the secondary market requires only low prices, but responsiveness, flexibility and service set NHR apart as a single, trusted source for a wide range of networking needs.”

“That’s why we inventory an average of $100 million in legacy and current products for same-day order fulfilment while investing in industry certifications for sales and technical staff.”
