Misco dials into T-Mobile's partner programme

Online reseller takes its first step into mobility market with latest partnership

Written by Sara Yirrell

Mobile operator T-Mobile has signed international online reseller Misco as a Premier level partner.

Misco is hoping the partnership will help it ramp up profitability by offering T-Mobile’s mobile broadband connectivity alongside laptops at point of sale. The VAR is confident of solid take up from all its key customers including SME, public sector organisations and consumers.

Under the partnership Misco’s sales staff will receive special training from T-Mobile to arm them with the necessary technical skills and information. The partnership will initially be rolled out in the UK, with scope for extending to other territories in the near future.

Daniel McDonnell, business manager for mobility at Micso UK, said: “This venture will give Misco a competitive edge in the mobile communications channel market. Currently, a significant percentage of our revenue comes from notebook sales and our partnership with T-Mobile represents a great opportunity to increase profitability further. We believe that 2008 will see a strong increase in customer demand for mobile broadband connectivity.”

Adrian Williams, T-Mobile UK’s head of OEM & IT channel partners, said: “We are delighted to partner with such a key player in the IT channel, particularly given Misco’s reputation for excellent customer service and its record within the public sector and SME market. This deal will enable both T-Mobile and Misco to reap the benefits of the increasing demand for advanced mobile broadband technology.”
