Mukesh Gupta, managing director of e92plus, said he hopes to recruit 30 VARs on behalf of the US-based vendor this year. Cyberoam also last month appointed Eliptec as its first French distributor.
“We liked Cyberoam because its technology is identity based, so the policies follow the user around,” said Gupta.
E92plus already works with UTM vendor SonicWall, but Gupta insisted Cyberoam was more likely to appeal to Fortinet and WatchGuard resellers.
Ian Kilpatrick, chairman of WatchGuard distributor Wick Hill, said: “The UTM market is incredibly crowded with aspirants. But, particularly in this time of mild economic uncertainty, we are seeing a flight to brands that people know will be there in a number of years’ time and you can see this in IDC’s figures.”
