Opalis looks to double number of partners

IT process automation vendor Opalis is aiming to double its UK-partner base after inking an OEM alliance with software giant CA.

Written by Doug Woodburn

The US-based vendor works with six UK partners, including Logicalis and Fujitsu Services Fujitsu Services having recently helped it close what it claimed is the world’s largest IT automation project to date.

Todd DeLaughter, chief executive of Opalis, said CA’s re-badged version of Opalis’ technology would be available to UK CA partners by the end of the year.

“We are targeting MSPs, outsourcers and system integrators, which all have a fundamental understanding of the benefits of automation, and want to double our partner base over the next 18 months.

“CA partners make a lot of sense given the OEM partnership.”

DeLaughter claimed that Opalis has registered triple-digit growth in each of the past three quarters.

“IT process automation is picking up momentum and vendors such as BMC and HP have validated the market by acquiring companies in the space,” he added.

Clive Longbottom, services director at research firm Quocirca, said: “Opalis is great, but I am worried that it is jumping on the business process bandwagon.

“It must ensure its messaging does not get trampled on by all the noise surrounding it.”
