CommVault signs Magirus

Storage vendor adds Magirus to UK distribution line-up

Written by Kayleigh Bateman

Data protection and archiving vendor CommVault aims to expand its pan-European reach after signing a distribution agreement with Magirus.

Magirus joins Horizon as CommVault’s second UK distributor. The vendor has retained a service partnership with Zycko after dropping the distributor from its line-up in March.

The storage distributor will carry the CommVault Simpana suite of backup/recovery, replication, archive, search and resource management software in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland.

Vince Blackall, managing director for EMEA channels ay CommVault, said: “Magirus is equally strong in all of the territories this partnership covers and its staff have already been trained on the software,” said Blackall.

He added: “CommVault’s portfolio is designed, from day one, to work together. Its architecture is developed on a code base to be compatible, so once resellers understand this and how to promote it everything else hangs off the back – businesses can grow with this software without having to change gear.”

In a statement, Christian Magirus, executive vice-president of Magirus, said: “CommVault is a strategic addition to our storage portfolio and will give our resellers a greater choice of solutions.

“The CommVault software suite is a strong proposition for partners and end users as it is easy to use and gives a flexible migration path that suits different business needs.”

Magirus will supply reseller accreditations, professional services and support for the vendor’s software. The distributor will have access to CommVault’s technical support and training network.
