Repton lauds revenue upswing

VAR claims reorganisation has yielded upturn in business as Novell comes knocking

Written by Kayleigh Bateman

Reseller Repton claims it has seen a dramatic upswing in revenues since it tweaked its business model and has signed a reseller agreement with Novell.

The infrastructure specialist posted second quarter revenue of £11.5m, substantially up on the £7.2m recorded in Q1, and claims it is on track for full-year revenues of £40m to £45m.

Greg Carlow, managing director of Repton, said: “Repton reorganised one side of its business into four vendors HP, IBM, Sun and Cisco and organised the value add side of the business in to expertise chunks.”

Carlow said these areas include virtualisation, storage, security and data management.

“The areas intersect with the vendors and through this model Repton has already seen more business this year than last year,” he added.

Novell announced today that it has formed a 'strategic' partnership with Repton around its Suse Linux platform, in a move that sees the reseller end the exclusivity of its relationship with Red Hat.

Jill Henry, channel director Novell UK & Ireland, said: "Repton’s recognition of the customer benefits of our SUSE(R) Linux Enterprise Server and its interoperability with the Microsoft platform underlines our strategic relevance to datacentre environments.”
