Ritchie Fiddes: Backup intends to boost its indirect sales figures by the end of this year

Backup Technology set to double reseller base

Recovery vendor plans to act on market growth with extended support for its partner programme

Online backup and disaster recovery provider Backup Technology is planning to double its partner base over the next six months.

With a current partner base of 100 resellers, Backup Technology has added benefits to its three-tiered partner programme to entice new partners across Europe and the US.

The vendor has added a web portal for its top-tier categories, Reseller and Partner, as well as marketing and sales support. The programme also includes a Strategic level.

Ritchie Fiddes, sales director for Backup Technology, said: “There is good growth in the online backup market and Backup Technology wanted to extend its reach through enhancing its partner programme.”

Backup Technology draws just 30 per cent of its revenues from indirect sales, a figure it is keen to boost.
“A wider range of VARs can partner with us and the web portal offers extras such as lead registration and support,” added Fiddes.

Donald McKay, system care manager at financial software reseller TSG, said: “TSG went live with Backup Technology in February, and we are happy that there is always someone to answer any questions.”
McKay said Backup Technology visited all of TSG’s 22 offices to provide training days.
