Catalus falls into administration

Digital memory distributor falls victim to market conditions

Written by Sara Yirrell

Distributor Catalus has gone into administration, CRN has learned.

The administration is being handled by Tenon Recovery, which was unavailable for comment as this article was published.

However a source close to the Swindon-based company, which had distribution deals with retail giant Tesco and also boasted vendors such as Parrot, Mustek and Kingston on its books, confirmed that staff have been made redundant and the firm has ceased trading following a tough trading period since January.

No one from Catalus was available for comment.

In related news CRN understands that Dave Flack, the sales and marketing director at Catalus has joined rival distributor Simms.

Alex Tatham, managing director of Simms said: "I'm delighted to welcome Dave to our business. He will be looking after our retail accounts. It is great to have someone with so much experience in the memory market and shows that Sims is doing what it said it was going to do and growing our business."
