DSGi Business wields axe

Around 50 staff told their jobs are at risk as reseller trims its cost base

Written by Doug Woodburn

Around 50 DSGi Business employees have been informed that their jobs are at risk as the reseller embarks on its latest cost-cutting drive.

The 800-strong giant is considering job cuts across its three sites in Borehamwood, Bury and Surbiton in response to “challenging market conditions”.

A spokesperson for parent DSGi International confirmed the firm had entered a consultation period after speaking to "in the region of" 50 staff yesterday.

“Although DSGi Business is a strong business and is still outperforming the market, these are challenging times and in challenging times you have to make some tough decisions,” the spokesperson said.

“A small number of staff have been informed their jobs are at risk. If there were any redundancies they would have a support network to help them find jobs.”

The spokesperson added that there would be obvious opportunities to re-house staff within the wider group, which employs 20,000 people in the UK.
