Hammer signs three new vendors

Distributor adds to vendor stable by signing Bakbone, Texas Memory Systems and Bridgehead Software

Written by Kayleigh Bateman

Storage distributor Hammer has strengthened its vendor line up with the announcement of three new partners.

The distributor has claimed the signing of data protection vendor BakBone Software, Solid State Disk (SSD) vendor Texas Memory Systems (TMS) and Enterprise Data Management (EDM) vendor Bridgehead Software will help drive its European growth plans.

Hammer has previously worked with BakBone on third party solutions, but the partner relationship now enables Hammer to offer the vendor’s entire portfolio.

Jason Beeson, solutions sales director at Hammer said: “We found ourselves with a gap in our data protection offering that needed to be filled.

“We are delighted to be working with BakBone again and taking the NetVault product range to our resellers.”

The agreement will specifically play a part in both companies development in the Nordic markets.

Chris Ross, vice president for EMEA of BakBone, said: “This new relationship with Hammer fits well with our strategic growth plans, enabling us to develop our market visibility in the UK and to expand our presence in the Nordics.”

On Hammer’s partnership with TMS, Paul Hickingbotham, solutions manager at Hammer, said: “With the reduction in cost continuing, Hammer sees the future of SSD as being paramount in the SME and enterprise markets.

“Their alliances with other key Hammer vendors such as QLogic, Emulex and Falconstor, make TMS a very good fit for our customer base.”

Ryan Witt, senior vice president for sales and marketing at BridgeHead Software, said: “The channel will have the opportunity to build additional revenue by offering the consultancy and services which customers often need with archiving as well as by selling complementary hardware products.”
