VoIP tops reseller agenda

ICT industry search engine finds VoIP is most-searched-for topic on website

Written by Doug Woodburn

Voice over IP (VoIP) has emerged as the most searched for single item on a new search engine for the UK IT channel.

Conjungo, which provides a searchable database of over 15,000 suppliers, compiled statistics from the thousands of unique visitors who used the site in October.

A tenth of all searches across its 100-plus technology areas focused on IP telephony and VoIP.

David Cruse, chief executive of Conjungo, said: “Considering how many potential areas of content we have on our site, 10 per cent is actually a huge percentage of users interested in one area.

“We believe this is an indication of the potential for rapid cost savings that VoIP technology offers combined with a need for truly independent advice for small business on how to find and implement the best solution and supplier.”

The research came as Conjungo unveiled a new “Unified Communications” education section within its “Go Understand” library.

“Unified Communications has been a buzzword for large enterprises for many years now but as the technology heads into the SMB space, more potential users are trying to get to grips with it and understanding the benefits and also potential negative aspects it brings to their commutations practices,” said Cruse.
