Integrator Data Integration has secured a three-year contract to supply support and managed services to the University of Surrey.
Under the terms of the contract, Data Integration will take responsibility for the Extreme Networks core and edge campus and residents’ network, the Trapeze wireless infrastructure and Citrix load balancers.
Data Integration already provides managed services for the University’s
internet gateway, SSL VPN, firewalls, two-factor authentication, traffic shaping
and routers.
Roger Stickland, director of information technology at the University, said:
“Our IT department supports the needs of over 14,000 students and almost 2,500
staff, so it was essential for us to partner with an organisation with a proven
understanding of the very specific IT needs of the Higher Education sector. Over
the past 3 years, Data Integration has demonstrated that understanding and also
that it has the skills and technical expertise to provide not just day-to-day
support but also assistance in infrastructure design and development for future
services.
Outsourcing support and managed service to Data Integration means that we can focus our excellent in-house team on strategic development of our IT services rather than day-to-day operations.”
