CA unveils virtualised partner community

Vendor hopes to encourage both resellers and technology partners to take up membership

Written by Sara Yirrell

CA has taken the wraps off its global virtualisation management partner community and is inviting resellers to join.

According to the vendor, the CA Partner Community for Business Transformation Through Virtualisation Management, is designed to allow partners to improve the efficiency, quality and agility of their customers’ virtualised environments.

Benefits to reseller partners include: solution development support, joint virtualisation go-to-market business planning including demand and lead generation activities, join account management activities, sales and implementation training, marketing and sales tools and briefings with CA product groups.

The vendor is also appealing for technology developer partners to join as well. Both strands of the programme are free to join.

Using the community, CA will work with strategic reseller and technology partners to help enterprise and service providers transform their physical and virtual infrastructure. The vendor will also work with cloud computing partners, using virtualisation as a business driver.

Roger Pilc, general manager of CA’s infrastructure management and datacentre automation business unit, said: “As virtualisation empowers IT to become a key catalyst of business growth a profitability, the network, systems database and application management considerations that companies need to take into account, are more strategic and business focused than every before.

“We look forward to working with our partners to deliver IT and business transformation best practices that enable customers to leverage their virtual infrastructures to quickly respond to changing market conditions.”

Shekar Ayyar, vice president of infrastructure alliances at VMware, said: “VMware and CA enjoy a productive relationship that helps our customers take advantage of virtualisation to improve datacentre operations and create efficient and flexible cloud environments.

“CA’s new partner community that focuses on virtualisation management will help bring solutions partners closer together. We look forward to continuing our work with CA so that our mutual customers will benefit from the technical expertise of our partners in designing, deploying, managing, and maintaining virtualised environments.”
