Convergence Group goes extra mile for Micheldever

VAR completes MPLS network rollout for tyre wholesaler

Written by Doug Woodburn

VAR Convergence Group has extended its MPLS network deal with tyre firm Micheldever Tyres to include 12 further sites.

The Cisco, Cable & Wireless and Colt partner initially installed the network towards the end of 2008 and the extension is designed to ensure total systems coverage across the whole branch network.

Micheldever claimed the stability of the network would allow it integrate future technologies into the existing system. The VAR is also working with the firm’s IT team to improve network performance with its NetView monitoring service.

Luke Claughton, Micheldever IT manager, said: “Once again, Convergence has demonstrated its ability to integrate our network quickly and efficiently and with minimum disruption to current operations – a refreshing change in the telecoms and networking industry.”

Founded in 2003, the Convergence Group claims to consist of more than 30 business partners and suppliers and boasts a turnover of over £35m.

Commercial director Neal Harrison, said: “We aim to exceed our customers’ expectations, both in terms of what we can deliver to their network communication operations but also in terms of the levels of service we offer.”
