Mike Norris: It is a well-run business and we are happy to keep it

Talk of CCD sale scotched

Rumour mill has been in overdrive this week over Computacenter's distribution arm

Written by Sara Yirrell

Mike Norris has quashed channel rumours that Computacenter Distribution (CCD) is up for sale.

CRN contacted the Computacenter chief executive after sources linked the potential sale of the company to several major distribution players.

Speaking to CRN, Norris said: “This is certainly nothing we intend to do for the foreseeable future. We got out of the desktop and laptop market last year, but server and storage is doing very well for CCD and we are leading the market.

“It is a pretty small [part of the] business now and doesn’t necessarily sit with the overall strategy of Computacenter because we don't have distribution in France and Germany. But we are very happy with its performance and it is a well-run part of the business. It delivers a great service and we are happy to keep it.”
