Virtualisation and cloud computing specialist Intercept has increased its staffing ranks to drive further growth.

Over the past two years the reseller has seen turnover rocket by 83 per cent to £9.2m.

Richard Gilder, chief executive of Intercept, said: “Although there are obvious economic challenges at the moment, it is still an exciting time for our business and in particular our on-premise and on-demand managed services. Managed services has been the powerhouse [of growth], increasing more than 400 per cent from nine per cent of revenues two years ago, to nearly 30 per cent today. Mainly due to cost savings and efficiency advantages.”

The VAR has taken on eight new staff members split between its account management and technical teams.

On the account management side the appointments are: Kef Thomas who joins the VAR from Cisco, Paul Roberts from managed service provider Esteem, Darren Roberts from Nasstar, Ronnie Parmer formerly of Repton, Fionnuala Wallace from Salesforce.com and Simon Allen from Xerox. Other appointments include Sara Flynn, who joins as service delivery manager from Strategic Technologies and Punit Sharma as service desk analyst, who joins from Avid Technologies.
