Davison: these distributor signings lay the foundations of an energised channel strategy

Distribution trio to Expand vendor's UK reach

Expand Networks adds three distributors to drive VAR recruitment around four key markets

Written by Sam Trendall

WAN optimisation specialist Expand Networks has added three distribution partners as it aims to ramp up UK reseller numbers.

The New Jersey-based vendor is hunting VARs to focus on four key markets: server-based computing, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), virtualised and cloud-based IP infrastructures, and satellite-based communications.

The firm claimed the addition of distributors Cloud Distribution, CDG UK and Sematron would help it undertake an aggressive partner recruitment regime. Cloud Distribution, launched two months ago by former Vcomm chief Scott Dobson, will focus on sales in the virtualised and cloud-based IP infrastructure space.

Expand and CDG Europe already work together in various continental territories. The distributor's UK operations were recently spun out from the £60m pan-European group and CDG UK will focus on selling Expand into the VDI and server-based computing markets.

Basingstoke-based Sematron, which partners with manufacturers including NetQos and Uplogix has been signed up by Expand to address the satellite comms arena.

Expand's vice president of corporate sales and marketing Adam Davison said: "We are seeing tremendous market success and company growth and needed to restructure our channel model and strategy to better support this.

"These distributor signings lay the foundations of an energised channel st rategy that will support our resellers in meeting the changing business initiatives of the UK enterprise, both now and into the future.

"Expand has worked hard to place itself among the top players in the market and, to further establish this leadership, we require a high-quality channel that is fully committed to our solutions."
