Sony intros its first all-in-one HD PC/TV

Vaio LT HD PC/TV features 'floating glass' design

Written by Robert Jaques

Sony today unveiled its first all-in-one HD TV/PC. Featuring a 'floating glass design', the Vaio LT HD PC/TV comes in multiple configurations, including standard and HD models.

The high-definition version features a Blu-ray optical drive that allows users to watch movies, as well as record, store and play back personal content on high-capacity BD media (up to 50GB on a single disc).

The unit features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2Gb of Ram and a 22in diagonal WSXGA+ widescreen display.

Since the LT PC/TV can be used for television viewing as well as computing functions, an A/V power button lets users shut down the TV function while the PC continues to run in the background.

The model features a built-in 1.3-megapixel camera and an echo-cancelling microphone for video messaging.

Prices in the US for the LT standard model will start at about $1,900, while the LT HD model with a Blu-ray optical drive will go for around $2,900.
