What's new in the 2023 Channel Awards?

To be perfectly honest - quite a lot!

It has been two weeks since the 2023 Channel Awards officially launched.

Aside from being in its 30th Year - a significant milestone, the Awards categories have been tweaked this year quite considerably.

So, what is new this year?

Because we operate in a constantly changing industry, it is vitally important for CRN to keep looking at the categories each year and seek feedback on how those categories need to change. Please feel free to get in touch and share your own feedback at any time.

This year the biggest change is that the revenue bands for both the reseller section and the distributor section have been adjusted to widen the playing field and give players of all sizes a better chance to compete. This means an extra revenue band has been added to each section. As a result, we have three of each Reseller of the Year and Distributor of the Year categories for 2023. These are:

Reseller of the Year (up to £30m turnover)

Reseller of the Year (£31m - £200m turnover)

Reseller of the Year (£200m+ turnover)

Distributor of the Year (up to £50m turnover)

Distributor of the Year (£51m - £300 turnover)

Distributor of the Year (£300m+ turnover)

Anyone shortlisted for the two smaller revenue categories will not be asked to present in front of the judges this year, but we will see how entries go and revisit it next year. If the demand is there, then we will do it!

We have also introduced the Best ESG Project/Initiative category for resellers/vendors and distributors as more and more companies prioritise the planet, people and process in their business strategies.

Finally, we have created the Infrastructure and Storage Vendor of the Year category, and the Most Innovative Distributor Award has been born by combining Most Innovative Project and the Technology Incubator categories from last year.

There truly is something in this year's awards for everyone to enter, and we hope more companies than ever before will help us celebrate the Channel Awards' 30th birthday in style.

We are still keen to hear your memories from the past 30 years of the Channel Awards - please do get in touch with [email protected] and let me know any funny moments, memorable moments or even embarrassing moments. Any pictures would be most welcome too.

The entry deadline for the 2023 Channel Awards is Friday 30 June - the date will come around very quickly as ever, so please don't leave it until the last minute!  Check out all the categories and criteria here, or via this article.

The very best of luck to you all!
