The joy of new beginnings

CRN wants to hear your views, writes editor Sara Yirrell

Starting a new online business is always a daunting prospect as there are many pitfalls and so much fierce competition along the way.
Much the same can be said for starting a new job and taking on the inevitable responsibilities and pressures that come with it.
Microsoft has spotted an opportunity with the rise of Web 2.0 and the demand for software plus services as new companies look to become the next Lastminute.com or Facebook.
But Microsoft can’t do it all on its own. The software giant has launched a range of technologies and a support programme to help fledgling online companies get the best start in life. It is also encouraging resellers to get in on the Web 2.0 act and capitalise on the opportunities with software plus services.
When facing a new challenge it is always easier if there is someone who is able to help you through the early stages. They can give opinions, offer guidance and even make suggestions about how to better the business.
CRN too is entering a new phase as it faces the ever challenging, ever developing world of print and online publishing.
As we start what I shall call the dawning of CRN 2.0, we too are looking for more reader feedback and support as we take the magazine and its growing range of cross-media platforms forward
to the next stages of its development.
In essence, we want your opinions, your suggestions and your help to steer the good ship CRN along the
right path to develop even more of a community feel to the title.
So if something isn’t right, shout about it. Equally, if something is right, make sure that you tell us about that, too.
Here’s to a new beginning and a long and happy working relationship with you all.
