Life's a beach

I was chatting to a well-known channel figure recently when he started getting all nostalgic about his salad days in the industry in the mid-1990s.

As a fresh-faced sales rep he found the IT space a bit of a shock to the system at first. Especially when one of his first company engagements was a breakfast beach party barbecue.

But times have changed and you'd never catch today's crop of solutionising 24/7/365 holistic ICT service visioneers indulging in such shameless frivolity.

"Doesn't it make you long for the days when your boss ordered you to turn up at eight o'clock with a jug of mimosa, a ukulele and a grass skirt?" I asked him.

"I never said anything about a grass skirt," he replied.

We both agreed we should leave the reminiscing there and get back to work.
