Lacking in Credants
I was shocked and appalled to learn recently that 95 per cent of people expect to keep in touch with their boss while they're on their summer holidays.
This is according to bizarrely spelled research from everyone's favourite attention-seeking channel firm, Credant Technologies. Never knowingly late to a bandwagon, the security vendor has got into the summer spirit with a poll that reveals almost two-thirds of us are work "junkys" and will check our company emails while "vacating" this summer.
About the same amount will take their laptops with them and send work-related bits and bobs back to the office while they're on the beach. Two in five workers claim their boss expects them to be contactable during their hols.
But - oh, no! - more than half of all these devices will be completely devoid of any encryption- or password-based security. If only there were some kind of company that manufactured and sold encryption solutions. We can but dream.
