Execs appeal
I was having a good old natter with an industry buddy recently and was intrigued to hear him questioning the capabilities of a well known channel executive.
It seems the received wisdom on Peter Principle is that, if running a business revolved solely around fiddling with spreadsheets, he'd be an absolute star. But those indefinable qualities that recruitment agents are so fond of calling interpersonal skills are a little thin on the ground.
Mind you, as an employer, I can't say that sort of thing concerns me too much. If this chap ever finds himself out of work, I've been looking for someone ruthlessly efficient to make the tea and tend to the office cacti.
