I heard this week that one well-known analyst claims to have passed up the chance to make it as a pro footballer because his allegiance to his own team is just too strong.

I ran into the affable chap at an event and he was telling me that, as a younger man, Spurs pleaded with him to join their ranks. Alas, as a dyed-in-the-wool Chelsea fan, he couldn't bring himself to put pen to paper.

Fair enough - but Orient have a proud history of giving a home to Tottenham knock-offs. And I couldn't help but wonder why the Os, or any of the 91 other professional teams that make up the football league, hadn't fancied taking a punt on the young hopeful.

Maybe the fame, fortune and personal glory of being a footballer just couldn't compete with the thrill of following market trends in the endpoint security space.
