Court in the act

I was shocked to hear this week of a notable acquisition that almost saw several well-known channel figures facing each other down in a courtroom - or even a pub car park.

The deal took place a year or two ago and it seems that, after the ink had dried, the head honcho of the acquirer felt a little short-changed once the new addition had been sized up.
A couple of directors at the underwhelming acquisition became the focus of the bigwig's wrath.

"He made it his personal mission to chase them through the courts," a little birdie told me.

Extra spice was added by the fact that two of the players involved had tumbled off each other's Christmas card lists in spectacular fashion some years ago.

I understand they're the best of buds again now. But you know what they say about keeping your friends close...
