Eye on the ball
A survey by Tufin Technologies finds that 87 per cent of UK IT pros would get straight on the case of addressing a technological disaster, even during the World Cup final.
One respondent explained: "The score will not change if you're not watching it."
Yes, that's exactly how football works.
Four in five US techies also said they would immediately begin fixing an IT problem during the Superbowl.
Other suspiciously illustrative comments included: "Those IT professionals choosing the 'footie' over their duties may be the fault of corporate management not educating their people on risk management and business continuity."
Tufin exec Shaul Efraim added: "Many network defenders won't be taking their eye off the ball, if you'll pardon the pun."
No worries Shaul - at least you didn't go for a shameless plug.
"By ensuring that your firewall is fully optimised, the next month should pass without major incident," added the firewall optimisation specialist.
But I can't help but wonder if they asked the tech-heads the right questions. For example: "do you know when the World Cup final is?" and "are you even remotely interested in footie - or outdoor pursuits of any kind?" Or perhaps "when did you
last have a proper conversation with a real woman?"
