Success or bust

The iPad's name has been one of its most hotly debated features. Various US media and branding experts (ahem) have got their knickers in a twist about its similarity to some kind of "feminine product". (No, I don't know either.)

Fujitsu has also raised a stink, claiming it applied for the iPad trademark in 2003. In turn, that application has been on and off since security firm Magtek claimed it is the one true keeper of the iPad flame, as one of its credit card devices carries the controversial moniker.

It turns out Siemens has also used the iPad name for some of its engines. Canadian bra-maker Coconut Grove could also lend its support, as one of its more enhancing models bears the epithet.

Complicated stuff. But, rest assured dear reader, my weekly musings will endeavour to keep you abreast of all developments.
