Channel Awards charlies

The Watergate scandal, John Major and Edwina Currie's affair, the false allegations of Sir Les Ferdinand vandalising the Blue Peter garden - some stories remain shrouded in mystery for ages.

Similarly, tawdry tales from the Channel Awards continue to surface. I heard about one channel figure being made to feel a right charlie the following day.

Having been reminded of an inappropriate exchange with a rival, they were reprimanded and told to keep their nose clean. I also heard of one nominee going literally hopping mad after failing to win.

Coming from a long line of Orient fans, the only comfort I can offer is an old Diamond-Geezer family saying: "There's always next year, son".
