Parental pain

I was heartened to read recently that the thoughts of a cantankerous septuagenarian are to be turned into a TV show.

Struggling 29 year-old writer Justin Halpern moved back in with his parents this summer and found himself subjected to the withering wisdom of 73-year-old dad, Sam. He started a Twitter feed to share the acerbic advice with the world.

"Remember how you used to make fun of me for being bald? No, I'm not gonna make a joke. I'll let your mirror do that," is one of the few posts suitable for a family publication.

CBS is in the process of turning the prickly pensioner's put-downs into a sitcom, with Halpern Jnr signed up as a writer and executive producer. Inspiring stuff, and surely proof that there's a wider market for my Diamond Bytes Twitter feed on all things SaaS.
