TCA/CompTIA event day one

Today I have been at the first TCA/CompTIA event since they announced their union yesterday.

The TCA Conference at the Radisson Edwardian at Heathrow was certainly packed with plenty of content and it has been good to catch up with some familiar faces here today.

The day kicked off with a Q&A between TCA founder Keith Warburton and C2000's Andy Dow talking about where he sees the industry moving. Inevitably the conversation turned to the cloud and it has been a stable theme throughout the rest of the day.

CompTIA chief executive Todd Thibodeux gave some good advice to resellers about the cloud and what it means for their business in terms of the opportunity.

One particular highlight of the day for me was the 'one minute pitch' where sponsors were given exactly a minute to pitch to the audience - some did the job better than others - I won't name names to spare blushes - but it is amazing how much information can be fitted into a minute.

Tomorrow is CompTIA's turn and I am hosting a panel discussion about the future of IT with channel execs from Intel, Dell and Kaseya. I'm just wondering how long it will take for the cloud to be mentioned?
