Hanging in there
So, a hung parliament it is then.
I will be interesting to see what happens now as this is unchartered territory as far as my experience is concerned - the last one being in 1974.
I for one am very pleased that there is this opportunity for the parties to unite and actually do something that benefits the people - but do I really believe this will happen?
The answer is no. Of course it won't.
At least voter apathy seems to have been overcome, with people being turned away at the polls after queuing for hours. That, I think is disgraceful - they have a democratic right to vote and they were not allowed to. Surely some exceptions should have been made to allow everyone the right to vote? This is meant to be a democratic country.
I am shocked and stunned that the nasty Ed Balls has been voted back in - what on earth were people in that constituency thinking?
The Lib Dems must be wondering what went wrong for them - especially with all the positivity surrounding their appearance on the debates. I would like to see Vince Cable play a major role in the next government though - he does seem to have his head screwed on.
But all in all I have a nasty feeling we are in for a very unpleasant period of back-biting, in-fighting and bitching - with nothing actually being done to sort this country out.
I also fear that Gordon Brown and his cronies will do all they can to cling onto power. I really hope I am proved wrong. After all the public has spoken.
So for those resellers hoping for a quick resolution of the public sector spending plans question - I think you might be in for quite a long wait.
