Westcoast 10K Challenge

Well, I'm pleased to say Team CRN finished the 10K run yesterday - part of the Great British 10K run.

Sam and Doug romped home in 46 and 47 minutes respectively and I managed to hit my target of completing in in 1.5 hours!

I have to say though - it took me an hour to get through the start line - by which time I was hot, tired, thirsty and a little miffed! Made even worse when there was no available water station until the 5K mark.

I nearly flagged down a passing ambulance because I needed a drink so much - but a very kind American lady shared her drink with me which allowed me to make it to the 5K drink station.

Considering it was sunny and 25 degrees out there - that was bad planning on the organiser's part because I discovered later that they had actually run out of water!

Whether that was from greedy people up front taking more than they should, or just under-planning, I don't know!

But it is over now and I'm very happy about that.

However I now have the running bug and will definitely be doing it again!
