Not Fare

Well congratulations to the government.

A report has come out today revealing that UK rail fares are 50 per cent more expensive than the rest of Europe.

They could have saved the bother of an expensive report and just asked some of the thousands of disgruntled commuters that are forced to use and pay for the railways every day. Every time I look at the price of my season ticket it makes me want to cry.

There are even talks of the government and rail companies being pressured into cutting fares. Now that would be a first - fares going down each year rather than up.

What these idiots fail to see is that they are pricing people off the railways - especially commuters - I certainly don't know how many more years I can keep paying the exorbitant fares I do.

Italy is the cheapest country to travel in, and from experience the trains are roomy, clean and frequent. Oh yes and four times cheaper than in the UK.

Something has to be done soon.
