UK bears the brunt

So, more headlines screaming how terrible things are going to be.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the UK economy is set to shrink 2.8 per cent this year, as the world's economy suffers its worst performance for more than 60 years.

Always good to start the day on a high - makes you feel ready to face life's challenges head on - NOT.

With all this negativity the national press are in danger of being completely ignored as people start to realise how we are talking ourselves deeper into the gloom by reading this stuff on a daily basis.

I will continue to say this as long as I can - we need to focus on the positives and the opportunities out there rather than constantly talking everything down.

Somewhere out there people ARE making money hand over fist - when one part of the economy suffers, another prospers, and that must be the same in our own industry.

Yes there will be parts that suffer and succumb to the conditions, but elsewhere there are pockets of positivity that are surely happening.

To top it off, the weather forecasters are predicting the worst cold snap in decades next week.

Unfortunately that is one thing I cannot blame politicians on - although I may still try!
