Victory

I have just been sent an email from a solicitor about an apparent victory against HMRC in its ever-lasting battle against VAT Carousel fraud. The trader, which has been subject to withheld VAT repayments for a significant amount of time under the government's extended verification scheme, has just been paid all its outstanding debts.
Sadly for legal reasons the fortunate company cannot be named, but the solicitors are confident that this will open the floodgates for similar victories for other traders.
Now I don't condone fraud in any way - but the way some of these companies have been treated really is shocking and it is nice to hear some positive news for a change. I hope to hear a lot more of it in the future.
