The Apprentice - I can't resist any longer
I have bitten my lip for the past five weeks - but I cannot keep quiet any more.
This latest bunch of hilarious characters have wound me up to the point where I'm screaming at the screen in frustration. Where do they pick these people from?
Last night saw the two teams brand a cleaning product and create radio and TV ads around them.
The losing team, led by ultimate loser Alex Epstein (I'm sure he has pitched me some IT guff in the past), chose to market a bottle of cleaner with red and black branding and looked (in the words of Alan Sugar) "like something that would get the grease off your car".
Why anyone would buy that for the kitchen is beyond me, but the team thought it 'stood out'.
Stuart 'The Brand' Baggs, excelled I thought last night with his range of strange and wonderful voices and he secured his place into the next round.
The other team, led by Christopher, managed to produce an advert of such amazingly sexist proportions that it beggared belief. The 'actress' they employed really should go back to drama school and learn how to be a tree again.....she was shocking!
However I am amazed that the awful Laura, is still in the game. She is a nasty piece of work and second only in her 'loathesomeness' (yes it is a new word) to the awful Mel. She has got to go - she is a total backstabber, but yet never delivers despite all the hot air she spouts.
Several of them are playing the long game and I hope three in particular make it to the final - Jamie, Stella and Liz.
Next week I think it will be between Sandeesh and Laura - well I hope so anyway.
Epstein, who really is an advert for positive self belief (definitely bordering on delusional), said in interviews afterwards that he was 'too creative' for Alan Sugar, but felt he had made a mistake in sacking him.
Personally I think the show will be a sadder one without the Epstein - his cringeworthy prose made for real entertainment and I think he should be given a masters in BS immediately.
Bring on next week!
