Paper cuts

The channel is still in shock as a survey reveals UK plc's mistrust of paper. Dave learns more

Stone the crows - a survey by vendor VersionOne has only gone and shown that 86 per cent of senior IT pros are still reliant on paper records (no way!), with a terrifying 51 per cent admitting to being very reliant (get out of here!).

The report adds that 32 per cent of firms could be persuaded to implement some kind of electronic document management (EDM) system if it would improve customer service.

One in five could be tempted if they were assured that electronic docs are legally permissible. The remaining 48 per cent would only be happy if they were assured of all the above, with increased security and environmental benefits on top. The greedy swines.

And roughly zero per cent would consider moving to EDM because they had been given the idea through a heroically dull and self-serving collection of truisms shamefully masquerading as research. Probably.
