Grinding to a halt

A few days with the white stuff and predictably our rail services fail

What is it with this country when a few flakes of snow causes everything to competely fail?

After two visits to the train station this morning and a board full of cancelled trains I finally boarded a train heading for London, nearly two hours after I was supposed to travel.

Granted the train was like a sheet of ice on wheels - but why does every public service always seem to be taken by surprise?

Now I am frantically checking the train company's web site to ensure I can actually get back home today.

Heaven help us if we ever do get any really serious weather in this country - particularly in the south.

We are all doomed!
