Green Christmas wrapping

Is reusing Christmas paper a good idea or just downright stingy?

According to some research by rubbish clearance company AnyJunk, 52 per cent of Britons will be reusing some of last year's wrapping paper.

Some may call that a wise move - I would actually call it tight.

If it is a case of using up little bits of last year's wrapping paper left on the roll I am actually guilty of that - but using paper that you have taken off presents from other people is taking the whole recycling thing a little far - particularly if it still has the sellotape marks from the previous year. Or little rips!

A total of 73 per cent of people questioned also admitted to recycling presents as well.

Nothing wrong with that unless the present you are giving has been personalised for you by the previous giver. That happened to me. Someone kindly gave me a lovely pen in a posh box one year, but forgot to check whether their name had been engraved on the pen - oops. I didn't think the name Shirley (changed for legal reasons) suited me - although at least it would stop people calling me Sarah!!

(The name is SARA by the way - no 'h' - EVER).

Whatever next? Reusing present labels by getting creative with a bit of Tippex and a thicker pen?

Come on - either you get into the Christmas spirit or you don't!
