My crystal ball works

My blushes are spared as my tip for the Apprentice winner pays off

So Stella English has won the Apprentice - as predicted by Yours Truly.

That doesn't mean I'm 100 per cent happy about her winning the title - I think her little dig at her opponent at the last minute in the boardroom was underhand and totally unnecessary. And for me that would have made me change my mind if I was doing the hiring.

However I think Chris will be OK - as long as he works on injecting some variation into his voice!

Their task last night was to invent a new drink, design a bottle to go with it and launch it at a glittering party, as well as take Q&As from the floor.

Stella went for a Bourbon-based drink called Urbon - designed to encourage women to take up bourbon drinking, and grab a share of the Jack Daniels market. Her bottle - as was remarked upon - did look a little like a fancy olive oil or balsamic vinegar bottle - and her drink didn't exactly taste great according to those who tried it.

Chris on the otherhand went for a great looking pyramid bottle for his brand of pomegranete-based rum drink called Prism. Although it was pink (ish) in colour - I think his drink, advert and concept were actually better than Stella's on the night. Nobody complained about the taste either.

But back in the boardroom Stella edged ahead of Chris and has secured herself a job at Viglen. It will be interesting to hear exactly what that job will entail.

It was also nice to see some of the old faces returning to help out the finalists - particularly Mr Epstein - who is now back working at Masternaut - I'm waiting for his first press release to hit my inbox in the new year.

So that is it again and I finally have my Wednesday evenings back.

I will miss their exploits and adventures and arguments a great deal. The week will definitely seem a lot duller without them.

Somehow the prospect of the inevitable 'celebrity' apprentice show just doesn't cut it for me.

Bring on The Apprentice 2011.
