Apprentice star gets suspended sentence

Christopher Farrell, he of the Octiclean fame, is also given 200 hours community service

The Apprentice 2010 alumni keep creating news.

This time it is the turn of cheeky chappie and former Royal Marine Christopher Farrell who appeared at a Plymouth magistrates court after being arrested for falsifying mortgage loan applications while working as a broker.

The 29-year-old, who will forever be remembered for that truly awful Octiclean advert - where he dressed a girl as an Octopus and then made interesting innuendos about what she could do with her eight hands - was fired by Lord Sugar in week eight (obviously an unlucky number for him) of last year's Apprentice.

According to a report on Sky News Farrell tried to blame his colleagues at a Plymouth-based mortgage and insurance company initially, but quickly admitted his guilt and pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud by false representation.

He will now have to carry out 200 hours of community service on top of his suspended sentence - I just hope it isn't industrial cleaning - because he won't have his octopus suit to hand.

Maybe he could hire Alex Epstein as his PR advisor in future - he would know what to do.
